Issues & Positions
Hill's goals include strengthening Wyoming's economy by promoting a business-friendly environment for corporations looking to relocate here, as well as smaller business start-ups. He will also work to diversify Wyoming's energy industry, focusing on alternative fuel sources and existing industry. Hill is determined to find ways to lessen the statewide problem of the use and sale of methamphetamine. He will support measures to strengthen Wyoming's educational system by controlling excess spending and diversifying into alternative learning opportunities, such as charter schools. Another area of focus for Hill will be reducing the tax burden on Wyoming citizens through careful auditing and reduction of state spending. "Wyoming faces many important issues, including the battle against meth, the future of Wyoming's energy industry and economy, and the state of our educational system. It is vital that all groups are heard and represented in the course of resolving these issues," Hill said. Hill believes the state's education system could be improved in a variety of ways. "In order for Wyoming's children to receive the best education possible we must consider alternative methods of learning with the knowledge that no two children learn the same way," he said. Meanwhile, the state must keep a keen eye on its vital role in the nation's energy supply, Hill believes. "In the current energy climate, where it is now agreed that the best course of action for America is to diversify her energy resources, Wyoming must invest in new, alternative forms of energy production. With its abundance of wind, coal and other natural resources, Wyoming is on the cutting edge of the energy industry. We must continue to be devoted to the responsible production and distribution of these resources."
